When you first launch Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord, you will discover that things are a little bit too close for comfort, especially if you are playing on a 21:9 monitor. Have no fear, however, as you can change the first-person FOV, and the camera position while in third-person to sit further back from your character model, making the world feel a little less crowded.
How to change FOV
To change the FOV, you will need to hit Esc, then select the options menu. Click on the Gameplay tab, then scroll to the end of the options. The First Person Field of View can go up to 100, so set it to the value that you prefer.
How to change third-person camera positon
To change the third-person camera position, you will need to hit Esc, then select the options menu. Click on the Gameplay tab, then scroll to the end of the options. This one can be a little harder to go with, so set it to the value you want, then check how it looks in-game. We got the best results by setting it to the maximum value.
To switch between third-person and first-person view, hit the R button. The transition between the two can be a little jarring if you have a large disparity between the FOV values and the camera position values. If this bothers you, then be sure to play around with both until you get something that nearly matches.
