The game is a little shy about telling you, so we are here to tell you what to do. Moogle Medals can be used after you meet a vendor in the Sector 5 Slums. You will need to do the “Mysterious Moogle Merchant” sidequest when it comes up. She will be dressed up as Moogle in a secret hideout that you will discover in Sector 5. Aerith runs the Moogle Emporium, and she is willing to sell you some important items if you have enough Moogle Medals.

Some of these items can be incredibly important. The Steel Pincers are a weapon for Barret, and all the Volume items will give new skills to Tifa, Cloud, Aerith, and Barret. To get your hands on the items, you will need to become a member of the Moogle Emporium, and this will cost a single Moogle Medal.

You should be easily able to grab up enough Moogle Medals just by playing to get all the items, make sure you smash crates and keep an eye out for chests. If you are worried about not getting enough, you can try to farm them, as the crates will respawn each time you visit an area.
