Bells are the name of the game in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. You either need Bells to pay off your debt to Tom Nook, or to purchase new, worthwhile valuables for your island. They are always in demand. A great way to earn Bells early in New Horizons is by farming the tarantula. It’s wroth 8,000 Bells, but it ‘s an elusive creature. However, many players have discovered the best way to farm it, and have it frequently spawn on a single island.
You first need to make sure you have access to the better equipment tools, such as the shovel, the axe, and the net, not the flimsy versions, and the ladder. You can do this by gradually progressing through New Horizons. After you have those on you and in your inventory, purchase a Nook Miles Ticket to get on a Mystery Tour where you go to a random island. You want to do all of your work from this island, not on yours.
When you arrive on the island, you will find plenty of different bugs, fish, and plenty of trees, scattered all over it. What you need to do is chop down all of the trees on the island, and then dig up the stumps. Do this across the entire island on every level of it. When you’re finished with that, pick all of the flower petals off the flowers, but don’t remove the flower stems. You can keep those. After you have cleared all of those, you’re ready to start clearing up the other bugs on the island. You want them to despawn, so catching and releasing them works, and running up to them to scare them off is perfect.
Once you have all those steps taken care of, you should start to notice only the bugs found on the ground will begin to spawn. Steadily, you will find more and more tarantulas on the island, allowing you to capture as many of them as you want to catch and then preparing them for transport. When you have enough to fill all of your inventory, feel free to leave, seem them at Nook’s Cranny, and make a high profit with them. Tarantulas only show up from November to April in the northern hemisphere and from May to October in the southern hemisphere from 7:00pm to 4:00am, so make sure to do all of this night, during these months.
You can redo this technique as many times as you want to try it from different Mystery Tours. Make sure to start the island after 7:00pm, or else you won’t receive the spawn timer for tarantulas or any other bugs during the timeframe.
