The Incense Day event schedule in Pokémon Go – May 17

Incense Day for Water and Dark-type in Pokémon Go is coming up.

A new Incense Day event is coming to Pokémon Go, arriving on May 17. The event will feature Water and Dark-type Pokémon, making it easier to capture them. Not only will Pokémon this type be more natural to catch, but any incense you use during the event has a higher chance to attract Carvanha, the Water and Dark-type Pokémon.

The Incense Day event starts at 11:00 am and goes until 5:00 pm in your local timezone. Various Pokémon have a higher chance of showing up throughout the event, and each hour it shuffles the type of Pokémon attracted to your Incense item.

Here’s a complete breakdown of those hours:

  • From 11:00am to 12:00pm: Water-type Pokémon
  • From 12:00pm to 1:00pm : Dark-type Pokémon
  • From 1:00pm to 2:00pm: Water-type Pokémon
  • From 2:00pm to 3:00pm: Dark-type Pokémon
  • From 3:00pm to 4:00pm: Water-type Pokémon
  • From 4:00pm to 5:00pm: Dark-type Pokémon

A variety of Pokémon can show up while you have an incense item active during any of the particular hours. However, when Water-types more frequently appear, you have a high chance of encountering a Horsea, Tympole, or an Alomomola. When Dark-type Pokémon appear, you have the opportunity of Murkrow, Sableeye, and Scraggy to show up. Among them, Scraggy is the most sought-after due to its being a Battle League Pokémon encounter reward for trainers above rank 9.

For anyone who may not have an incense item available to use during the event can receive one from the in-game store. There will be an available bundle containing three incense you can purchase for 1 PokéCoin, which you can choose to use during or after the Incense Day event.

The Water and Dark-type Incense Day event in Pokémon Go will occur on May 17 from 11:00am to 5:00pm in your local timezone. Make sure you activate your incense item to receive the full benefits of the event.
