Being able to gain as much speed as you can in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 is fundamental to completing some of the goals that the game tasks you with, as well as for completing all of the gaps that you can find throughout the levels. When it comes to accelerating on the skateboard, it will help you with moving on the skateboard quicker. But ultimately, there is one factor that helps with the amount of speed you can reach on the board and one way to push your speed to as high as it can get to while on course.
Overall, your skater’s speed will be dictated by the number of stat points placed in their speed stat point category. The higher the number of stat points allocated to speed, the higher your top speed will be on the board.
To increase this for your current selected skater, you need to find the stat points that are found throughout the maps in each level. They will be the game’s logo in the form of tokens to ride through, and most are fairly easy to find.Â
Once you have some points to spend, pause the game or head to the main menu, and go to the Skater tab. Go into the stats sub-menu and from here, you will see a number of attributes to add stats to, including speed. A lot of other factors can influence how fast you are, but the speed stat will increase your top speed overall.Â
While you may also have speed at full, pushing off the board will not always get you to that pace. Reaching top speed on a map will require you to use a half or quarter pipe, or a downhill segment in order for your board to reach its full speed potential.
