Remnant From The Ashes Review

How to play Survival Mode in Remnant: From The Ashes

Just survive.

The Swamps of Corus DLC for Remnant: From The Ashes introduced Survival Mode to the game. Survival Mode is an intensely difficult, randomized version of the game. You start with practically nothing and need to fight your way through the game’s different areas randomly. To make it even more interesting, the difficulty increase on a timer, forcing you to try and make it through each area quickly, so you can get back to the safety of the Labyrinth and level up a little bit.

To start Survival Modes, follow the below steps:

1: Interact with the World Stone at Ward 13.
2: Select “World Settings”.
3: Select “Begin Survival Mode”.
4: Select the difficulty, then hit the prompted button at the bottom of the screen to start.

When you are choosing the difficulty, you should carefully read the descriptions, as the difficulty impacts more than just how much damage you can give and take.

Difficulty Levels

You will be whisked away to the Labyrinth and will be surrounded by stones with different symbols on them. These act as shops and you start with 1000 Credits to buy supplies. You should be able to get a melee weapon, and a ranged weapon, along with other items that will help you out.

The available weapons will be random for each run, so choose carefully as you might get some that you are unfamiliar with. After that, interact with the World Stone behind you to be sent to a random level in the game.

When you arrive, you will need to fight through the level, discovering items, traits, weapons, armor, and resources as you go. The real goal is to try and get back to the Labyrinth, to stock up on supplies and spend Credits on new items you might need.

The longer you stay in the level, the more times the counter can reset, and the difficult can increase, so you want to try and find your way to the boss fight, or an exit before that happens.

As always, the levels are random, so speedy exploration married with healthy caution are the way to success.
