How to play with bots in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

Safe and sound.
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

If you would like to spend some time learning Call of Duty: Modern Warfare maps without having to get your pride damaged by shotgun rushers, then you are in luck. There is a way to play on the multiplayer maps against bots, giving you ample time to learn lanes, angles, and lines of fire before you take on the savages that live on Call of Duty servers. They won’t go easy on you while you learn the ropes, so there is no harm in spending some rounds taking on the AI.

There are two different methods, depending on your platform, so we will run through both here.

On PC

On PC, it is super simple to do. Just select Local Multiplayer, then set up a Private match. In the Bot Set-Up menu, you will get to pick how many bots are on the map, and how they will behave.

On Console

Console is a little bit more awkward. You will need to be offline, so either cancel the online connection when the game is starting or select Go Offline when it loads up. After that, you need to go to the Local Multiplayer option and set up your Private Match. If you are connected to the internet, the Local Multiplayer option will not be visible.

After that, it is just like the PC way, you will need to use the Bot Set-Up options to decide how many bots are in the game, and what they are doing. Now, you can practice to your heart’s content without your time spent learning having a negative impact on your stats, and your self-esteem.
