Yesterday, it came out that WWE superstar and now Hollywood actor Dave Batista is going to be a multiplayer character option in Gears 5. Fans of the franchise are likely going to understand why he’s jumping into the game. For several years, he’s been attempting to play as the game’s main protagonist, Marcus Fenix, in a film adaption for the franchise. While that has not proven successful, the developers still want to get Batista involved as much as possible. Here’s how you go about unlocking Batista in Gears 5 multiplayer.

How To Unlock Dave Batista in Gears 5 Multiplayer

You won’t be able to jump in as Batista right out of the gate, though. You need to wait a few days for the game to come out and everyone to say how much fun they’re having in it. On Sept. 15, anyone with a copy to Gears 5 is going to have the chance to unlock him. To do so, regardless of what version of the game you have, all you need to do is play the game, and he should unlock for you later on in the multiplayer mode. You’re likely going to receive a notification about how he’s now available, and how you can start customizing what gun he takes into battle or the armor he’s wearing.

As of right now, we don’t know if he’s going to come out with any exclusive skins. The fact he’s arriving in the game in the first place is fascinating. While he might not start with any skins, the developers might have some ideas of what they can do with Batista’s armor later on in additional patches.

While players are going to have the option to unlock Batista on Sept. 15, they only have until Oct. 28 to acquire him. After that, we don’t know if he’s going to go away forever. He may become available in the game’s official store, but he’s likely not going to be free anymore.
