Here’s how you go about unlocking Sonic in Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD

We have an updated entry in the Super Monkey Ball series, and it’s called Banana Blitz HD, an HD remaster from the original 2006 title. While Sega is more than happy to have an array of characters for their roster, players also have the opportunity to grab one of the company’s other lovable characters: Sonic. You do have to go about unlocking him, however. Here’s how you do it.

It’s going to take some time to get him, though. Players are going to need to work their way through the game’s first eight worlds to get everyone’s blue, loveable Hedgehog. There are no special requirements for wrapping up these worlds, so feel free to get through them by any means necessary. All you need to do is make sure they’re taken care of and ready to go.

When players wrap up the eighth world in their line up, they’re going to grab Space Case Sonic immediately. There’s not too much else to unlock this character. After world eight, you should see him join the other characters on the roster screen, and then you’re good to go. However, it’s important to note players can only use Sonic in the main game. You cannot take him out to engage in any of the online material of the title or the party games.

Sonic does come with some distinctive features, though. When players use this character in the game, all of the bananas are going to change to rings, and the menu music changes to his theme. They’re small touches, but fun, loveable nods for players who are fans of Sega’s many products.
