Mythic dungeons, raiding, and PvP honor contribute to more than just bragging rights in World of Warcraft: Shadowlands. These tasks all add up to various rewards for The Great Vault, and the opportunities to claim these prizes increases with each successful run. The important thing to remember, however, is when you should cash in on your Great Vault loot once the weekly reset is over and the vault’s prizes are available. The answer really depends on what kind of WoW player you consider yourself.
If you raid…
Wait until your raids have concluded before you cash in on The Great Vault. Although you can only claim one reward from the vault, you can have up to three possible choices if you finish a few raids and knock out all ten bosses in Castle Nathria. Higher difficulties will increase the item level of your reward inside the vault, so once you perfect those runs on Heroic and Mythic, this is where you’ll see the results.
If you don’t raid…
The best time to open the Great Vault if you’re not a regular raider is after you kill off the world boss of the week. Each of the four world bosses in Shadowlands drops loot with an item level of 207, which is the same level as a Great Vault reward for a Mythic+5 dungeon. This way, you won’t risk getting the same potential reward twice after beating the world boss and opening up the Great Vault.
