Who plays Strife in Darksiders: Genesis? Strife has had two voice actors play him.
Darksiders: Genesis features War and Strife, fighting side by side against the demon horde. Fans of the series are likely already familiar with one character, War, from the first game, and the voice actor returns to reprise his role. However, Strife has a new voice actor for this game.
Strife made their initial appearance in Darksiders 3. He shows up during the boss battle between Fury and Lust. Lust conjures an illusion of Fury’s brothers during the fight, and Phil Lamar provides the voice. However, for Darksiders: Genesis, Strife is voiced by Chris Jai Alex.
Alex has shown up in several notable video games, typically as a background voice. For example, he’s given his voice talent to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Kingdom Hearts 3, Resident Evil 2, he voiced Champ in Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, and was a multiplayer announcer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. He’s slated to lend his voice as Jackal in Deathstroke: Knights & Dragons, an animated DC movie.
You can expect to see Alex taking more roles in the future, and he plays the wise-cracking Strife exceptionally well. Strife stands out form the other Horsemen because he’s the only one who does not have a melee weapon, preferring the use of two handguns named Mercy and Redemption. Both of these handguns have shown in the former in Darksiders and the latter in Darksiders 2.
Because Darksiders: Genesis takes place before the numbered Darksiders games, Strife’s whereabouts remain unknown, but we could learn about it following the end of the game. His siblings, War, Death, and Fury, have all attempted to learn about what’s happened to him to no avail.
Hopefully, if we learn his fate, Alex will return as Strife in later installments in the Darksiders franchise.
