Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy will now release on PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on June 29, Activision revealed earlier today.
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is going multiplatform sooner than most fans expected. The Crash Bandicoot trilogy remaster is set to arrive on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC in June instead of July, Activision revealed today.
Initially, Activision planned to release Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy on July 10. But the game is now releasing on June 29 instead thanks to an “extra push” on the game’s ports, Activision said. The trilogy was first released just for PlayStation 4 last year on June 30, but ports for the game were announced earlier this year after ongoing rumors suggested N. Sane Trilogy was just a timed exclusive. Evidently, those rumors turned out to be true.
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy features HD remasters for the first three Crash Bandicoot PlayStation 1 games from Naughty Dog: Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, and Crash Bandicoot: Warped. The trilogy features improvements to the original game through enhanced graphics, new physics, a uniform checkpoint system, time trials across games, autosaves, recreated cutscenes, and improved audio, among other additions.
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy isn’t the only trilogy remaster for a classic Sony PlayStation platformer franchise. Spyro the Dragon is receiving its own HD remake through the Spyro: Reignited Trilogy. Long considered a mascot for the original PlayStation alongside Crash Bandicoot, the Spyro series’ upcoming remaster is also rumored to arrive on Nintendo Switch. It’s unclear if that’s the case, but for now, Spyro: Reignited Trilogy is slated for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Sept. 21, 2018.
