Cyberpunk 2077 Dev: We Are Firm On Our First-Person Perspective Decision

CD Projekt Red is on a roll with Cyberpunk 2077. The studio released the second trailer of the game at this year’s E3, showed a gameplay demo behind the closed door at the event to select few media outlets and business partners, and earlier this week released over 47 minutes of the Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay demo for the general public (although it was taken from the Work In Progress build of the game). The gameplay demo received a positive response from both the Cyberpunk community and the critics, but there was one part that did not go down to well with them “First-Person Perspective”.

Cyberpunk 2077 Dev Is Firm On Their First-Person Perspective Decision

Mike Pondsmith and other members of the development team have defended their decision of First-Person Perspective for Cyberpunk 2077 at multiple instances in the past, but the community continues to raise their concern regarding it with a hope that CD Projekt Red might add a Third-Person Perspective option. Sadly, that is not going to happen as confirmed by CD Projekt Red’s Patrick Mills.

Cyberpunk 2077 Quest Designer Patrick Mills in a recent interview with our friend at DualShockers stated that the development team is FIRM in their decision of the first-person perspective for the Cyberpunk 2077.

“We are firm in that decision. However, we’re very aware that a lot of people don’t like first-person, and there is a small number of people who can’t play first-person for a variety of reasons.”

So there you have it, it doesn’t look like we are going to officially get a third-person perspective option for Cyberpunk 2077. I am sure that the PC players will get it via mod support, can’t say anything at the moment for PS4 and Xbox One ports.
