Death Stranding is possibly getting a brand new trailer at the incoming State of Play happening this Tuesday, Sept. 24.
The event is going to focus on The Last of Us Part II as you might already know. They’re likely going to reveal new gameplay footage, along with an early 2020 release date.
New clues have spread across several social media accounts hinting at Hideo Kojima preparing a new trailer for his PlayStation 4 exclusive, Death Stranding. These hints may mean Kojima is going to have something ready for the State of Play event.
Weirdly enough, an old rumor pointed at a State of Play featuring both The Last of Us Part II and Death Stranding at another date. It may seem the leak turned out to become real.
The clues include the usual pictures of Kojima’s desk with editing tools open on his PC screens. These images have usually followed a new trailer getting released, so this might happen.
I expect the next trailer to focus more on the story than on gameplay. Kojima wants to promote the more cinematic experience provided from the first few clips rather than something focusing on pure gameplay, like those from Gamescom or Tokyo Game Show.
I wouldn’t call it a launch trailer as we’re still more than one month from the proper launch, but it could work as something like that. Of course, we’ll see whether all these speculations turn true or not only tomorrow.
