Capcom has finally announced when players can get their hands on the PC version of Monster Hunter: World— and it’s sooner than you expected.
The PC version is set to release on Aug. 9. Those who pre-order will get the Origin Set DLC and Fair Wind Charm, the same items that console players got. The game originally released on PS4 and Xbox One back in January and became the fastest selling in the series’ long history. Monster Hunter: World has been getting constant content updates to this day.
All the special collaborations and additional content updates that have been released as post-launch DLC for the console versions of the game will be coming to PC as a free update. That includes quests and gear based on Street Fighter, Mega Man and Devil May Cry. Capcom plans to reveal more details on these free DLC updates on its Twitter.
Capcom teased a PC announcement over the weekend, that the release date was coming. Not long after Capcom’s teaser, Monster Hunter: World PC’s system requirements reportedly leaked on Tencent’s WeGame platform. The game will be distributed on Steam.
With the PC version locked down, the Nintendo Switch will be left out as the one console missing out on the game. Instead, the Switch will be getting its own Monster Hunter title this August, called Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate. Generations is an updated version of the 3DS game of the same name. Ultimate has been out in Japan since August of last year.
