A few days ago, we reported about a new Super Monkey Ball game spotted among in Taiwanese video games ratings. Now, the news is official: there’s a new title of the much-appreciated franchise on its way, although it’s not exactly brand new.
The game is called Super Monkey Ball and is releasing for Nintendo Switch, PC and PlayStation 4. It looks like it is a remake of the Banana Blitz 2006 Wii launch title, based on the first screenshot released by Japanese magazine Famitsu.
The screenshots give us a look at some levels from the Wii title. Even though there’s still a chance that the upcoming game could be something like the best of the best levels. The developers could grab portions of past titles and choose to remaster them for the newest platforms.
Fans are not exactly enthusiastic at the idea of it being a remake of Banana Blitz. The title includes certain divisive features, like the ability to jump over obstacles and includes long boss fights that many disliked.
It was the seventh game in the franchise and included 100 main levels, and 50 mini-games thought to function with the Wii Remote’s motion controls. The upcoming Super Monkey Ball is releasing for all the platforms in Japan on Oct. 31, 2019. We’ve yet to learn if it is coming to the west, sooner or later.
