A Pokemon Sword and Shield competition recently disqualified several competitors, including the winner, for violating the rules.
The winning T-shirt for a competition for Pokémon Sword and Shield has been disqualified.
A while back, we reported that the Pokémon Company was holding a clothing competition. The competition was to design a t-shirt that will appear within the upcoming Pokémon games, Sword and Shield. The contest was created by Uniqlo, a retail company that specializes in clothing.
A winner was chosen, and images of their t-shirt within Sword and Shield have already been released. The winning shirt was a black tee with a unique design that features a Gyarados and Magikarps.
Serebii has revealed that the winning t-shirt has been disqualified. The winner violated the rules of the competition. They already sold that t-shirt design before entering the competition, which was against the instructions for the contest.
Now that the winning entry has been taken out of the competition, there will be no grand prize winner. Serebii reports that none of the t-shirts in the competition will be making their way in Sword and Shield.
That isn’t all though. GameXplain recently put up a video revealing another t-shirt was disqualified in the contest. This other shirt used a design that wasn’t there’s. This other disqualified shirt had a stylized image of Mewtwo on it. According to GameXplain, that image of Mewtwo had existed since 2014, long before the competition took place. It is another unfortunate situation that Uniqlo found themselves in.
Check out the other winners’ designs on Uniqlo’s website. Pokémon Sword and Shield is slated to release later this year, and we expect that there will be new information releasing around E3.
