The Golden Spatula in Teamfight Tactics is an immensely powerful item, and competition to grab it during the carousel should be fierce. In this guide I will make the best argument I can about why you want it.

For those playing Teamfight Tactics, you’re aware of the immense power certain items can have for specific Champions. When you have a three-star Pyke, and put a couple of Shojin Spears on him, watch him destroy your enemies. You can’t always guarantee individual drops, or that particular items are going to appear on the carousel, but when you see them, you need to get them. The Golden Spatula is one such item. Why? Because it has immense power when it comes to enabling builds.

What Does The Golden Spatula Do?

First, let’s run through the basics of the Golden Spatula. By itself, the Spatula comes with no effect, but in combination with another item, it creates a new item that gives you a buff and changes the class of the Champion you have holding it. Another important point is that if you get two Spatulas, you can create the Force of Nature item. This new item increases your unit cap by one. A free unit on the field is an immensely powerful option, as you normally need to invest a lot of time or gold to get extra units in the late game.

  • + B.F. Sword = Youmuu’s Ghostblade. You are an Assassin.
  • + Recurve Bow = Blade of the Ruined King. You are a Blademaster
  • + Needlessly Large Rod = Yuumi. You are a Sorcerer.
  • + Tear of the Goddess = Darkin. You are a Demon.
  • + Chain Vest = Knight’s Vow. You are a Knight.
  • + Negatron Cloak = Runaan’s Hurricane. Attacks hit additional enemies and deals 50% of normal damage
  • + Giant’s Belt = Frozen Mallet. You are a Glacial.
  • + Spatula = Force of Nature. +1 to your unit cap.

As such, you can choose to combine the Spatula with another item to make it much easy to achieve your build, or you can wait to see if you get two. You don’t want to underestimate the power of the one, though. A Demon two-star Draven with some attack speed items is nothing to scoff, especially with the changes coming to how mana burns work.

Another critical reason to get them is, even if you don’t use them, you deny other people the chance to do so. You’re going to potentially make it harder for them to get their builds working. Item and Champion denials are not getting the appreciation they deserve at the moment, but I will happily sit on a couple of Pykes, Dravens, or Lulus if I feel it is messing up other people chance to get a stronger build going.

So there you have it, all the reason why the Golden Spatula is such a sought after item in Teamfight Tactics.
