Voyage of Despair on Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Zombies is a vast and complex map. Despite being set on a boat, that boat is the famous RMS Titanic, so it’s rather large. It’ll require a few playthroughs before you fully understand the lay of the land, but one way to help with that is by unlocking completely free fast travel so you can go to all areas of the boat in an instant without spending any points. It’s the most recently discovered easter egg by the folk over at the /r/CODZombies subreddit and with the help of MrDalekJD’s YouTube video, we now fully understand how to unlock free fast travel on Voyage of Despair.
How to unlock free fast travel on Voyage of Despair – Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Zombies
We don’t fully understand all of the eligible weapons to use for this, but as long as you double Pack A Punch one of the following, you should be good to go: M9 Hitchcock, Hellion Salvo, Hades or Paladin.
What you need to do is head up to the Boat Deck, right at the top of the ship. There you’ll see some pipes all facing the same direction. Shoot a few bullets into each of these pipes, and eventually, a floating hourglass will spawn. The exact pipe changes every game so check them all – there’s no system to work out which one it will be in.
The floating hourglass is going to float around the map. You need to interact with it every time it stops. It will move from the Boat Deck to the nearby fast travel portal – follow it through to the Cargo Hold, then keep interacting with it up into the Mail Room. Once it reaches the “pit” area of the Mail Room, it will go directly up so you can’t follow it directly – turn around and head up the Mail Room stairs then up to the spawn area of the Forecastle. From there, follow it through the next fast travel all the way to the Poop Deck. Interact with it a few more times then when it reaches the wheel, it will combust into a poof of smoke.
You don’t need to pick anything up. For the next three fast travels you use, they will cost 0 points instead of 500. It’s a minor reward, but it’s most definitely worth doing since it hardly requires any effort from yourself as it’s just running around the map. You are on a short timer from each checkpoint to the next with the hourglass though, so make sure you’re not dawdling. If the hourglass does disappear before you can reach it, wait till the end of the round, and then go back and shoot the pipe again for it to restart its journey.
