Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair is out right now. You can jump into the game on several different consoles. It’s a fun platform, and we did a review of it, which you can freely read here. When you’re playing the game, there are a handful of secret exits you’re going to find throughout the game. There are four in total, and getting to them is a little tricky. We’re going to run down how to get to them in this guide.

The Secret Exits in Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair

Chapter 5

The first secret exit is going to be in the second form of Chapter 5, called Gasping Glade – Grown. Jump into this section, and we’ll get started.

To reach this exit, you need to make your way through the entire level to get to it. You’re going to arrive at the legitimate exit, but you don’t want to take it. Instead, you want to go to the right where you’re going to see a toxic pit. You need to wait until the platform gets to you on the left side, and then make your way across to the left. When you do, you’ll see a large frog you need to jump on, a dangerous pinwheel to avoid, and then another toad. Duck underneath the massive spinning blades until you reach the end. You’ll see the exit there.

Chapter 7

You’re going to get the chance to get this exit when you finish the first part of chapter 7. After that, you’re going to get into the second part of it called Production Path – Panic.

We wrote how to get this one earlier today. Mostly, the entire level is going to feature you running away to the left, attempting to outrun a vertical, purple laser trying to slice you in half. You want to keep running until you get to the point where Yooka and Laylee get stuck between two of these lasers on either side of them. You’re going to be in a portion of the level where you’re stuck on a rotating platform, slowly getting pushed to the left. You should see a trap door with the secret exit on the bottom. Get to this trap door and use the Buddy-Slam to access it.

Chapter 14

You won’t get the chance to get access to another secret exit until later in the game, during Chapter 14. You’ll want to complete the first section traditionally, and then return to the original Chapter 14, Hazard Hanger, after your first run through.

Much like chapter 5, you’re going to go to the end of the level for this secret exit. You’ll know you’re getting to it when you see the original exit when you’re supposed to jump off from the netting to the platform. Rather than leap off, hold on to it, and you’re going to get taken up. Avoid the rotating box, and jump to the next platform where there’s a crate with a Quill inside of it. Open the box, grab the Blue Quill, and then grab the respective golden Quills it shoots out. After you finish grabbing them, the secret exit opens up for you.

Chapter 16

The final secret exit is in Chapter 16, the Queasy Quay – Climb level. It’s the second form of the first chapter.

You need to make it through most of the level until you get to the final area. There, you’re going to climb up the platforms with several large metal boxes slamming down. Continue up the boxes, avoiding the fire, and waiting for the boxes to clear a path for you. Three series of boxes should clear the way until you make it to the top. On the right side, enter a metal, green tube and then walk forward to the wooden platform. It should fall, clearing the previously blocked path for you. Roll forward, and you should enter a green pipe on the other side.

However, if you’re not quick enough, a small metal box full of golden Quills is going to block your path. Unless you can time it perfectly, you’re going to want to use the Slow Mo tonic to get to the other side. This tonic should make the timing easier. After you roll through the other side, you should see the secret exit above a box.

Those are all four of the secret exits in Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair.
