Unfortunate events can happen at any moment in Death Stranding. Players can lose their cargo due to getting pulled by a heavy current, or they could get ambushed by a group of MULEs. If players lose their cargo from MULEs, the yellow-suited raiders wandering around in the game, chances are they took the player’s spoils back to their camp. There’s only one thing left to do: liberate those goods. Here’s how you do it and get your supplies back.

How to Steal Back Stolen Cargo from MULEs in Death Stranding

You’re going to encounter MULEs for the first time during Episode 2 of the game when you make your way over to the Distribution Center West of Capital Knot City. They’re going to ask you to acquire materials for their printer, which they lost because another porter had attempted to deliver it to them, but MULEs were able to take them out before they safely arrived. You infiltrate the MULE camp to the south of the Distribution Center and take back the goods, along with other supplies the raiders had collected.

Now, when you’re playing the game, you’re going to find yourself encountering other MULEs in your travels. These raiders are going to ping Sam and the cargo he’s carrying, making it easy for them to locate him. While you can run away from the position, hide, or even fight back, you won’t always get away. Every once in a while, you’re going to get ambushed and find yourself losing your cargo. When this happens, you need to go on a search for those MULE camps.

You’ll know it when you’re getting close to a MULE camp. Chances are you’re going to be able to ping these raiders to see them carrying stolen gear, which highlights them for you. Some players may have already encountered the camp in their games, so they were kind enough to place signs nearby warning other players of the area.

You’re likely to encounter MULEs and BTs in areas outlined in orange on the map. These signify dangerous areas, so make sure you get equipped properly before venturing into these locations.

Regardless of how you find it, you’re going to need to go to the center of their camp to retrieve the goods. They’re going to be in a Postbox next to their central tent. The Postbox looks similar to the ones you’re going place for players or others place around the map for you to find. While they may look the same, they do not work the same. Instead of leaving stuff, you’re only going to take things. You’re likely going to find a considerable amount of gear than the ones that got stolen from you. Grab what you can get out of there.

You’re likely going to find several MULEs wandering around the camp. These raiders are going to have several weapons on them designed to knock you out. If you get knocked out, they’re going to steal whatever they can on your body, so if you plan to raid a camp, you should probably expect not to take anything with you, in case the worst should happen. Stumbling into a camp, though, could prove fortunate, if you’re careful.

That’s all you need to know about stealing back cargo from MULEs. As long as you take your time, remain patient, and slowly creep up on them or take out the raiders one by one, you should be able to leave with your gear. All players should expect to come back with more than they lost, too.
