If you have been getting the matchmaking failed error while trying to load into missions in Anthem, have no fear, you are not alone.
The matchmaking failed error has struck again in Anthem. This is bad news for the people who pre-ordered the game and are being affected. The error occurs when you try to load into the world outside Tarsis. The game attempts to find you a group to play with, but will just return the matchmaking failed error instead.
What Is The Anthem Matchmaking Failed Error
The error seems to be caused by a failure with the server responsible for finding groups of players of equal level and power. Ideally, this server would put the groups of players together, then load them into the world servers. Unfortunately, it seems to be failing at the moment for some players.
This is likely due to a higher volume of traffic than Bioware anticipated at this time. It can be very difficult to find the right scale at which to operate servers, even for an early launch like Anthem.
Is There A Fix For The Matchmaking Failed Error?
Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do to fix the issue. Because the problem is on the server side, only the developers will be able to fix it. If you are being affected, you can try to reload into the mission area a couple of times, as some people have reported success with this method. Thankfully, it is also the kind of problem that will not require you to download a patch to fix.
EA are aware of the issue though, as a member of staff on the EA forums has advised people that they are aware of the issue, and are working as hard as possible to fix it.
