Best team setup in Dragon Ball Legends

The best characters to use in any situation.

Team building is one of the most important parts of Dragon Ball Legends. Your team will decide if you will cruise through the game, or get hung up and frustrated with later battles. Here is our guide to the best characters to have on your teams.

Saiyans

Saiyans are something of a given on most teams you can build in this game. Most high powered characters are in some way related to the Saiyans. These characters have a very high damage output and can take a lot of damage in turn. They also tend to have long combos and useful buffs. Your bench units will need to be focused on buffs that capitalize on the high damage Saiyan’s have to get the most out of this team.

Core:

  • SP Super Saiyan 3 Goku (Purple)
  • SP Super Saiyan Bardock (Blue)
  • SP Angry Goku (Blue)

Bench:

  • SP Super Gogeta (Red)
  • SP Super Saiyan Vegeta (Purple)
  • EX Raditz (Blue)

Androids

This team is great for the early game, and the late game, but hanging on in the middle can be difficult. Android 18 tends to take center stage with this build as she can deal large amounts of damage very quickly. The support abilities by the bench characters enhance her damage output even further. The big issue with this team is the lack of adaptability. If you mess with the setup too much it will fall flat. Moreover, Android 18 is a Striker but the deck is largely focused on Blast fighting. This can become a big issue during the mid-game if you don’t manage your deck carefully.

Core:

  • SP Android 18 (Yellow)
  • SP Android 21 (Blue)
  • SP Perfect Form Cell (Revived) (Red)

Bench:

  • SP Android 21: Good (Green)
  • SP Android 21: Evil (Purple)
  • SP Super 17 (Green)

Son Family

This team focuses on the high power output of characters like Super Saiyan 3 Goku while combining it with excellent support buffs. This team focuses on the use of hard hitting initial attacks backed up by strong Z-Abilities. The biggest downside to this build is that it doesn’t feature any healing abilities, but it isn’t really necessary with the strong combos this team can deal.

Core:

  • SP Super Saiyan 3 Goku (Purple)
  • SP Super Saiyan 2 Youth Gohan (Red)
  • SP Angry Goku (Blue)

Bench:

  • SP Goten (Kid) (Yellow)
  • SP Super Saiyan God SS Goku (Red)
  • SP Super Kaioken Goku (Green)

Hybrid Saiyans

The Hybrid team is one of the more well balanced teams on this list. Unfortunately despite being well balanced it can be a bit underwhelming in terms of overall damage output. The main focus of this team is to use support abilities to magnify one of the core members, especially Gohan (Red). One of the nice things about this team is the flexibility. Each character is a jack of all trades so you can easily switch out core and bench characters without suffering too much.

Core:

  • SP Super Saiyan 2 Youth Gohan (Red)
  • SP Goten (Kid) (Yellow)
  • SP Super Saiyan 2 Youth Gohan (Purple)

Bench:

  • SP Super Saiyan Teen Trunks (Red)
  • SP Trunks (Kid) (Green)
  • SP Kid Gohan (Yellow)

Vegeta Family

As is expected of anything to do with Vegeta’s family, this team is very versatile. It has access to a large variety of support abilities that can get you out of most tough situations. The biggest downside to this team is that while it let’s you control the battle, it doesn’t have as high a damage output as other teams on this list.

Core:

  • SP Super Saiyan God Vegeta (Yellow)
  • SP LL Vegeta (Majin) (Blue)
  • SP Super Saiyan God SS Vegeta (Future) (Purple)

Bench:

  • SP Vegeta (Red)
  • SP Trunks (Kid) (Green)
  • SP Super Saiyan Teen Trunks” Battle Armor (Red)
