Legendary Parts in Star Wars: Galactic Racer are the pinnacle of the roguelike racer’s build system. Unlike most other Parts, scoring a Legendary can secure quite the impressive Perks to your vehicle. Just the Legendary tier of your favorite Parts alone can add insane bonuses to whatever stat they’re already improving. But there are standalone Legendary Parts that can become a big game-changer to whatever playstyle you’re pursuing.
This isn’t to say you should recalibrate your entire playstyle to whichever Legendary Part you want to get. But rather, there are certain Legendary Parts that work so well with most builds that they’re must-gets whenever you see them in the store.
Critical Hope

It’s easy to lose hope when you’re down to just one Crash before a Wrecked Out in your Galactic Racer gameplay. This is worse when you know you’re in a track you don’t know or engaging in a mode like Eliminator where the stakes are much higher than you realize. Normally, any other player would want to just reset the Tour right there and then. But if you have Critical Hope, you get one more chance to go all-out.
With this Part, you get Shielded, Surging, and Cooled when you’re down to your last Crash. These are all important in a reset, as Cooled means you get access to Ramjet much faster for a last-ditch boost. Then Surging ensures you get the best shot at regaining momentum as possible. And Shielded means you get protection from minor collisions and hazards, allowing you to let loose in this last ditch effort to chase your rivals.
Disruption Protection

If you’ve ever run an offensive build in Galactic Racer, you know a lot of the game’s Abilities are designed to slow enemies down. Just a well-timed Ion Bolt or Concussion Mine inflict Disrupted, shutting down Abilities and the Ramjet as well as giving a nasty debuff to top speed and acceleration. So when this happens to you, it’s almost guaranteed that your enemies can zoom past you.
With Disruption Protection, this won’t happen anymore. It seems situational but if your build is the kind that usually gets you to 1st Place, you often become the target of offensive Abilities. This ensures you’re well defended when it counts.
Cooling Overcharge

Cooled is one of the most desired Status Effects in Galactic Racer, especially for Ramjet builds. After all, you need to keep things outside overheating range (unless your build specifically needs it). Normally, the Vent Ability is there to do just that – dissipate heat so your ride gets Cooled and you can use the Ramjet much sooner. And with Cooling Overcharge, you can get more out of Cooled whenever you get it.
With this Galactic Racer Part, you now get Overcharged as long as you get Cooled. This is a big deal for Ability-heavy builds, as Overcharged grants you more Energy and faster Ability cooldowns. If you spam Vent with the Ramjet on top of other Abilities, you get a stable Ramjet and Abilities to control the track with.
Polished Inlets

Slipstreaming is one of the most interesting racing concepts in Galactic Racer gameplay, because you use your rival’s own momentum to your advantage. In real physics, an object (say a car) that goes very fast creates little air resistance behind it. So if you get directly behind them, you can build speed without having to deal with the same issue. You exit, and that boost gradually disappears.
But that’s the thing, the perks only last when you stay behind a rival. With Polished Inlets, this isn’t the case anymore. Thanks to this Galactic Racer Part, when you leave your rival behind, the slipstream boosts remain until you Crash. With careful riding, this means you can sustain slipstream after slipstream and get much higher top speeds even without Surging.
Shielding Ramjet

The Ramjet becomes your go-to boost whenever you need to chase the lead in Galactic Racer. But its tendency to overheat, lock steering, and explode on you (if you’re not careful) can make it rather tricky to trust in clutch situations. At least with Shielding Ramjet, you get a much-needed extra layer of protection.
With this, you get Shielded as long as you use your Ramjet. That means extra protection against collisions and enviornmental hazards, and ergo giving you more of a safety net against Crashes. If you’re a fan of drifting with the Ramjet, this is certainly a good way to ensure scraping by walls don’t cost you a Crash.
Cooling Slipstream

When you slipstream in Galactic Racer, you get a slight speed boost when you exit the drafting zone of a rival. Normally, this boost disappears over time. So the tendency here is to use an Afterburner or a Ramjet as soon as either one is available. Then again, there’s no guarantee you’ll have your Afterburner fully refilled or your Ramjet recharged for the duration of the slip.
But with Cooling Slipstream, you can use the Ramjet as soon as you exit. You gain Cooled while Slipstreaming, so this is a good way to recharge your Ramjet while you cruise behind a rival. Then once you’re ready, just breeze past them for a smooth overtake.
