Epic Parts in Star Wars: Galactic Racer serve as your formal introduction to creating crazier builds for your racing experience. This is where the roguelike racer starts to shine, as you can pretty much see how your ride can get “cracked” if the right elements just so happen to show up together.
As with most other Parts, there’s no guarantee you’ll get any specific Epic Part throughout your Galactic Tour. But on the off-chance that you do, there are certain Epic Parts you should definitely get so you stay one step closer to securing a ride even Kestar Bool will be jealous of.
Slipstream Intakes

Even in a Galaxy Far, Far Away, Galactic Racer gameplay still takes cues from real physics – specifically slipstreaming. In the game, if you stay right behind another racer, you can actually get a steady speed boost. That’s because, in real life, there’s less air resistance behind them – ergo there’s not a lot stopping them from gaining speed. In Galactic Racer, getting out of a slipstream will slingshot you further with additional momentum.
With Slipstream Intakes, keeping that slipstream also doubles how fast your Ramjet cools. This means leaving the slipstream will most likely get you prepped for a Ramjet, which can help you leave rivals in the dust more consistently.
Afterburner Reconfiguration

Suffering a System Malfunction in your Galactic Racer gameplay brings you much closer to Crashes, especially when this leaves you more prone to collision damage. It often slows you down enough that other racers already pass you by the time you recover, making it more challenging to regain momentum. With Afterburner Reconfiguration, you can at least make use of every System Malfunction.
Now, whenever you suffer this condition, you gain double the Afterburner power. This definitely adds a risk factor to Afterburner use, as the wrong collision can send you Crashing. But if you’re already behind and you desperately need to regain momentum, that risk is something you’d be willing to take.
Redlining Power

Anyone who loves Redlining is a madman, especially since doing this long enough can cause your ride to Crash. Of course, do this properly with your Galactic Racer Ramjet and you can maintain much longer boosts – and this is something that can easily secure 1st Place. With Redlining Power, you’re practically incentivized to keep doing this risk.
When you have this Epic Part equipped, you get double the Ramjet power while you’re Redlining. This means it’s not enough that the Ramjet is super speed boost in the game, you get more out of it just by treading the line between staying up and getting Crashed. With the right Cooled setup (or some ways of extending your Redlining Zone), you’re good to go.
Repulsor Surplus

Your Abilities in Galactic Racer can help you take control of the race, especially since you can equip up to four Abilities that either help you or hinder foes. With Overcharged, you get additional Energy and faster Ability reloads, letting you use these Abilities more often. Normally, it’s tricky proccing Overcharged in the game. But with Repulsor Surplus, all it takes is getting in the air.
Since being airborne is almost always a guarantee in every track, you can “time” when you want to use your Abilities throughout the race. They don’t even need to be combative in nature. Just a well-timed Surge, Shockwave, or even Autopilot can give you tremendous advantage after recovering from a jump.
Purging Surge

Normally, you want to Surge in your Galactic Racer Tour to get that extra boost in top speed and acceleration. Any increase to these base stats counts, as the Afterburner and Ramjet can just shoot you for much higher speeds afterward. But that’s the thing: just because you’re Surging doesn’t necessarily mean you could use the Afterburner or the Ramjet right away, and that can make builds around Surging slightly unreliable.
With Purging Surge, this isn’t the case anymore. Whenever you trigger Surge, you also instantly get your Ramjet primed and ready. This means your increased acceleration is sure to be of use, as the Ramjet will try to shoot you past your limit as soon as possible.
Scrap Reloader

Given how some Abilities in Galactic Racer let you concuss enemies and disrupt them, it’s no surprise how easy it is to make offensive builds. Even collisions and the right brushes can send your rivals Crashing into a wall, scoring a takedown. Most of the time, it’s just fun seeing your rivals get rekt’d on the takedown crash cam. But what if you get rewarded for them?
That’s where Scrap Reloader comes in. Whenever you score a takedown, you recharge all your Abilities. This gives you quite the advantage, especially if you use aggressive Abilities like Concussion Mines and Shockwave in the first place. Score a takedown with one of them and you can forget about the cooldown, you can just use them again.
