Playing Borderlands 3 is all about customization and what makes you a stand out character when you’re playing your game. You can do so with the guns you’re carrying, to the abilities and talents your Vault Hunter uses. Another unique way you can do so is with weapon trinkets. These hang off the side of your gun when you’re using them. Here’s how you equip them to your weapon.

How to Equip Weapon Trinkets in Borderlands 3

Before we equip a weapon trinket, are these little tokens going to enhance your gameplay in any significant way? The unfortunate news is that they do not. They are not going to provide your characters with any notable passives or give them a new skill to use in combat. They’re a fun, adorable way to make your gun uniquely your weapon while you’re carrying it into battle. You’re likely going to be the only one who can see it, so don’t get your hopes up about your friends noticing it while you’re blasting baddies.

When you receive your trinket, thankfully, these small cosmetic items do not take up any space in your general inventory. They reside off to the side, allowing you to hold as many as you can pick up. When you’re ready to ready to equip one, go to your main inventory, and you’re going to see a slot to the left side of your weapon. Scroll over to it, and click this slot. You’re going to see the list of available weapon trinkets you’ve picked up, and you can choose which one you want to place on your gun. Again, because none of these offer any viable gameplay advantages, passives, or skills, you get the choose which you like the best.

You can equip the same one to multiple guns. You’re not limited to one trinket per weapon, so you can have your favorite trinket on every weapon you carry. You’ll flash that charm around and show it off to every bad guy you shoot up.

While there are no legitimate benefits to the weapon trinkets, Borderlands 3 still offers a variety of choice and customization. You can start playing the game right now on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the PC through the Epic Games Store.
