Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1 update – Release date, raid map, Dropkick mode, and more

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1 is going to release soon, and instead of charging for DLC updates, the game will be using the battle pass system like most of the games these days. The new update is expected to introduce new maps, modes, guns, and more.

Along with this, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Call of Duty: Warzone, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will follow a synchronized leveling up system that means no matter which game you play, your progress level will be synchronized among all the three games.

Black Ops Cold War Season 1 Update Release Date

According to the official Call of Duty blog, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1 update will release on December 10, 2020. The official patch notes of the upcoming season update have not been released yet, however, the data miners have leaked a few upcoming features that are listed below:

Raid Map

A few leaks suggest that the Season 1 update will bring back the ‘Raid Map,’ which was introduced earlier in Call of Duty: Black Ops II and then in Call of Duty: Mobile. In addition to this, the data miners have found a file named ‘s1_mp_raid_tu_cairo’ that accounts for the possibility of the inclusion of this map.

Mall Map

Apart from the Raid Map, another map is expected to arrive in Cold War Season 1 update with a snow theme known as Mall Map. It looks like the map is inspired by the Back to the Future movie, and the developers have added a winter vibe to it.

Dropkick Mode

A brand new mode called Dropkick Mode is expected to release in the upcoming update and has already created a lot of hype among the players. It looks like an objective mode, and it might bring back the Nuke Killstreak, a legendary Call of Duty finishing move in the game.

New Battle Pass

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be introducing the battle pass system, and with the new battle pass, exclusive in-game items including skins, operators, and more will be introduced.

Starter Pack

As per the leaks, Season 1 will be coming with a starter pack that will include COD points, weapon charms, a calling card, and maybe even the battle pass.

Groza and MAC-11 Guns

Two new guns are likely to arrive in the game, and the leaks suggest that it will be an assault rifle – ‘Groza’ and the MAC-11 pistol.

Zombie Mode Update

The Zombie mode is getting an update, and it is likely to add three new zombie maps called Die Maschine, Firebase Z, and Nacht Der Untoten Survival map. In addition to this, the data-mined files suggest that one of the new zombie maps will be based on Vietnam.

Last but not least, the Cold War Season 1 update is expected to bring three more maps, although not much information is available regarding these maps yet. Nuketown is expected to get a Christmas-themed cosmetic update as well.
