Dr. Mario World has come a day early for those with an iOS phone, and those with an Android are going to have to wait until July 10 to play the game. A single day is a short time, though, and in the meantime, we’re going to share the best ways for players to get started in the game. We’re going to cover all of the playable characters available to players to choose from, and how to unlock them promptly.

All Playable Characters in The Game

There are ten characters to choose from in Dr. Mario World. Each one of the characters stands out with a unique ability to make them feel iconic, and round out the game’s gameplay. Here’s a list of the ten characters players can choose in your game:

  • Dr. Mario:
  • Dr. Peach
  • Dr. Luigi
  • Dr. Toad
  • Dr. Yoshi
  • Dr. Toadette
  • Dr. Wendy
  • Dr. Ludwig
  • Dr. Bowser
  • Dr. Bowser Jr.

When players first jump in the game, they have the opportunity to pick to play as Dr. Mario, Dr. Peach, or Dr. Bowser, following the tutorial missions. The tutorial missions finish following level 10. The one players choose from the list is going to be their first character, and the others are going to become available through unlocking them.

Unlocking new characters is not as difficult as some may believe it’s going to be for a mobile game.

Unlocking Dr. Mario World Characters

After you reach level 20 in Dr. Mario World and clear the first area, you have the chance to start gathering up the other nine available characters in the game. These characters are going to cost you 4,000 coins to unlock, at random, or they’re 40 crystals, the game’s premium currency.

There’s a catch, though. You don’t get to chose which of the characters you’d like to go for when you want to purchase one. The game automatically picks one character at random, and you have the chance to buy them using the above amounts. Characters can show up even if you’ve already unlocked them, as adding more of the same character to your pool is going to level them up. After you have a specific character reaching a max level, then they’re removed from the pool of doctors and assistants you can pick from to only go after those you readily need.

It’s a bit of a grind but remember, Dr. Mario World is a mobile game. It’s expected to come with some way of motivating players to purchase in-game items or premium currency.
