Take a look at the official Devil May Cry 5 shown during The Game Awards 2018.

Are you a god at Devil May Cry 4? Yes? Then you should feel right at home using Nero again. Many of his classic combo strings remain the same and his newly prosthetic devil arm functions nearly identical to its previous incarnation. However, while you can still pull yourself towards enemies and quickly navigate the arena, Nico upgrades to Nero’s Devil Bringer enhances his capabilities.

Your robotic Devil Arms will give you special abilities such as an air dodge that will make you even more agile on the battlefield or an amazing rocket punch that will continue to attack enemies leading to further combo opportunities. Play around with each of them until you find one that fits your playstyle.

Besides learning Nero’s basic combos with The Red Queen, you’ll want to familiarize yourself with the Exceed system. If you’re able to time the press of L2/LT after a swing, you’ll store up an EX move that will do insane amounts of damage and lead to other combo opportunities.

Dante’s kit is one that will even series veterans have a hard time mastering. Not only do you have to learn when and where to use his countless arsenal of weapons, you also have to fully understand his multiple styles. For now, let’s just focus on his styles as they are truly what define Dante’s unique playstyle. Dante has four styles that he can switch between on the fly.

The Trickster style gives him the most mobility and chances to evade an enemy attack on the drop of a dime. You’ll want to use this in tight situations where you’re outnumbered or avoiding a bosses attack. Trickster can also be used to close the distance mid combo or to finish off an enemy that’s been knocked away from you.

Swordmaster is where the bulk of Dante’s flashy sword combos come from. When you need to do damage on the fly or build up style, this is your go-to style. Just be sure to add some variety to your combos in order to increase that style ranking.

Gunslinger is Dante’s ultimate ranged style. As you guessed, this style focuses on gunplay and flashy combos focused on doing damage from a distance. This style is perfect for players that prefer to style on enemies from afar.

Perhaps Dante’s most difficult style, RoyalGuard requires the players counter enemies to attack with perfect frames. Your reward for countering enemies allows you to dish out powerful counterattacks against the opposition. This is a style highly recommended for Advanced players.

Devil May Cry 5 – Dante Trailer | PS4

Devil May Cry 5 comes to PlayStation 4 on March 8, 2019! The devil you know returns in the most over the top, technically advanced, utterly insane action experience of this generation.

The newcomers to DMC 5; V is a unique beast entirely. Instead of getting up close and personal like his other cast mates, V summons demonic animals to do his dirty work. When playing as V you’ll want to properly time your summons so that each of their attacks constantly stuns the enemy. Once the enemy’s health is lowered enough, you can dash in for the final blow.

While V may seem difficult to get the hang of at first, his gameplay is potentially the easiest to get S ranks with for newcomers to the series. Picture his gameplay as Dante’s Gunslinger style but enhanced profoundly. Also, take the chance to taunt whenever you can as you have your summons do all of your dirty work.
