Pokémon Go has an upcoming event centered around Psychic-type Pokémon. It was to follow the Abra Community Event day that was planned earlier this month before being canceled. But the Psychic-event is going on, and you have the chance to participate in obtaining various rewards and to acquire multiple Psychic-type favorites and powerhouses to add to your roster.

The event will take place from March 27 at 8:00am and ends on March 30 at 10:00pm in your local timezone. During this time, you will be able to capture Abra, Drowzee, Ralts, Spoink, Baltoy, Wynaut, Beldum in 2-kilometer eggs, and making their debut is Gothita and Solosis, who are also available in these eggs. You will be able to encounter all of these Pokémon, and other Psychic-types, more frequently in the wild during the event. You can only meet Solosis during the day, and Gothita during the night, which means these same restrictions apply for any eggs acquired from PokéStops or friend gifts. You can encounter Abra, Slowpoke, Drowzee, Exeggcute, Jynx, Wobbuffet, Girafarig, Ralts, Meditite, Spoink, Baltoy, Beldum, Brozor, Bothita at night, and Solosis during the day in the wild more frequently.

Baltoy is receiving its shiny version, and you will be able to encounter it during this event. You will have a chance to encounter it alongside all of the other increase Psychic-type spawns over the weekend, so try to use this time wisely to find it.

Additionally, Field Research tasks obtain from PokéStops during the weekend will have more Psychic-type themes to them, increasing your chances of finishing them. However, recently Niantic announced they were removing select Field Research tasks from the game for the time being due to people around the world engage in quarantines to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. We don’t have precise details about what tasks those were, but it likely affected any that were planned for this event.

The Psychic Spectacular Event starts on Friday, March 27, at 8:00am. For those practicing self-isolation over the weekend, try to avoid going outside as much as possible, using lures purchased from the Pokémon Go store to draw those Psychic-types closer. You can also reach out to your friends in the game to receive gifts from them to have a higher chance of adding more PokéBalls and 7-kilometer eggs to your inventory.
