Danzaburou, a trickster god, has arrived to Smite. He’s a hunter, and primarily uses his abilities to keep quite a bit of money in his pocket, while also benefiting from how much gold he’s earned. Here are all of Danzaburou’s abilities, and how they work.

Passive – Dubious Savings

Danzaburou’s passive is dubious savings. Whenever he gains gold by collecting it from doing in-game activities, taking out minions, gods, or objectives, he stores 10% of whatever he earned into his money pouches. He possesses four of these. When he fills up an entire pouch, Danzaburou receives bonus gold and a permanent 10 Physical Power increase before switching to another. He can gain a total of 40 Physical Power.

These are much gold each pouch can contain and how much bonus gold he receives.

  • First pouch: 80 gold, and 180 bonus gold
  • Second pouch: 140 gold, and 265 bonus gold
  • Third pouch: 200 gold, and 350 bonus gold
  • Fourth pouch: 300 gold, and 500 bonus gold

Fool’s Gold

Danzaburou’s first ability is called Fool’s Gold. He sends out three money bags that can pass through each other and enemy minions but damages them. These bags stop when they hit an enemy god, though, and slow them down. Any god hit by these bags receive damage and are intoxicated for a short amount of time. While intoxicated, the enemy god drops a coin, allowing Danzaburou of his allies to pick it up for 10 gold. When these bags stop moving, they begin to pulsate and then detonate after a few seconds, dealing 20% damage.

You primarily want to use this for your lane clear during the first portion of the game. Make sure to level this up first as you’re playing to clear the minion wave quickly, and then focus on enemy gods. If you can use it during a fight in the jungle, you can do a heavy amount of damage to multiple enemies.

  • Range: 70
  • Damage: 70, 125, 180, 239, 290
  • Explosion damage: 30, 55, 80, 105, 130
  • Intoxicated: 0.6, 0.8, 1, 1.2, 1.4 seconds

Alluring Spirits

Danzaburou’s second ability is called Alluring Spirits. When used, he receives a small burst of health and then throws the bottle in front of him. The bottle of sake has two rings around it, and any enemy god caught in those rings slows down. If the gods remain there enough to gain three stacks, they’re taunted towards the bottle. However, any enemy caught in the bottle’s radius that is hit for 30% of their total health break the taunt and can leave.

Before you rush into combat, make sure to use this first to dictate what directions your enemy goes. If you throw this cut off enemies for escaping back to lane while in the jungle, your jungler can use it as an opportunity to gank, or you can prevent enemies from escaping when your allies rotate over.

  • Healing: 30, 50, 70, 90, 110
  • Damage: 80, 130, 180, 230, 280
  • Slow per stack: 10% for 1.5 seconds (stack three times)
  • Taunt duration: 1 second
  • Hits to break bottle: 2, 2, 3, 3, 4

Tanuki Trickery

Danzaburou’s third ability is called Tanuki Trickery. When you use it, a small bamboo forest spawns around Danzaburou’s current location, and he gains reduced basic attack damage, is immune to slows, and moves faster. At the same time, any enemies who enter the area receive a 20% movement speed reduction. Should Danzaburou leave the forest, he becomes a leaf, and multiple leaves spawn out from this location in an attempt to confuse enemies who attempt to hunt him. While a leaf, he gains an increased movement speed, is immune to slows, can pass through enemies. He reverts to his original form if an enemy hits him or he attacks.

You want to use this when backed in a corner, or if you’re going against the enemy carry in a one-on-one battle. It’s a good way to ensure Danzaburou doesn’t take additional damage from the enemy god. You want to make sure they’re more basic attack-based, rather than ability-based, or the Tanuki Trickery won’t work as effectively.

  • Movement speed increase: 10, 12.5, 15, 17.5, 20%
  • Leaf movement speed: 20, 25, 30, 35, 40%
  • Reduced basic attack damage: 20%
  • Field duration: 5 seconds
  • Leaf duration: 4 seconds

Uproarious Rocket

Danzaburou’s ultimate ability is called Uproarious Rocket, and it’s essentially a sniper shot. When activated, a large bamboo rocket appears next to him, and he can aim it anywhere in front of him, from a full 180-degree angle range. The rocket can lock on to a nearby enemy god, or you can activate the rocket ability again, so Danzaburou enters the rocket, going with it. The rocket passes through and damages enemy minions but stops when it hits an enemy god, stunning them. It deals 50% of whatever damage it does to the enemy god, to anything around it.

His ultimate can work as an effective escape or as a way to ensure an enemy doesn’t get away. You can also use it to steal objectives before an enemy finishes them potentially, but you need to make sure you have spot-on timing as it takes a few seconds for this ability to fire.

  • Damage: 300, 360, 420, 480, 540
  • Stun duration: 1, 1.2, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4 seconds
