Your bat is one of the most important weapons you’re going to carry with you during your journey in Rad. You’re going to use it as your primary form of defense, and you’re going to bash hundreds of mutants to bits with it. But does it match your playstyle? Does it match your outfit? If none of these things are true, you need to change the type of bat you’re carrying to start using something more suitable. Here’s how to change your bat in Rad so you can destroy all of the little mutants running around you.

How To Change Your Bat in Rad

What do you need to do?

The first thing you need to do to change your bat is acquiring the armory. You don’t need to beat a specific boss or get to a particular level to unlock it. All players need to do is play the game enough times and raise your overall mutation level to the third portion after you complete a run. To complete a run, it’s either by beating the game or dying. Because you’re unlocking the armory, the likely option many beginning players are going to be familiar with is the dying portion of the game.

You’ll know you’ve unlocked the armory when you receive the first bat alternative weapon. You’re going to see this immediately following the end of your run where you have the option to continue playing as your character or return to the main menu.

How To Equip Your New Bat

With your armory unlocked you can freely go and grab a new one whenever you’d like to, at least when you’re not in the middle of a run. To do so, approach the armory on the second floor of the village. It’s going to be right next to the redheaded kid named Biff. If you want an excellent visual marker to finding the location, looking for the wall where you can see Biff’s painting, and he should be standing right next to it.

You need to approach any of the bats you’ve acquired throughout your runs to equip it. You’ll see them lined up on the wall over top of wooden boards with nails in them. When you grab a new one, you put your bat in its place, and you can start swinging with your new weapon of mass destruction.

Whenever you’re in the middle of a run, you can switch out your bat by returning to the village. To do so, when you finish beating a boss, you need to take the blue portal on the left side of the screen. The right portal takes you to the next level. But the blue one returns you to the village so you can turn in your items, buy new stuff, and change out bats if you need to do so.

Now start smashing those mutants all across the destroyed landscape.
