How to complete the Studies & Observations Group Operator Mission for Sims in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War

A wide range of things to accomplish.

Sims is another recipient of a brand new operator mission in this newest season in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. This mission, entitled Studies & Observations Group, is unlocked once you reach Tier 40 on the battle pass. From there, it’s all about completing the four objectives it gives you, with each objective giving you a reward. Throughout the mission, you will receive some cool, new cosmetics and get a couple of new skins: Forward Observer and Dry Surge.

If you wonder what is awaiting you when you reach Tier 40, then we have you covered. The mission’s objectives are as follows:

  1. Kill five enemies with Semtex Grenades. Completing this objective will get you the Personal Maintenance Calling Card and 1,500 XP.
  2. Destroy five Lethal Aerial Scorestreaks with a launcher. Completing this objective will get you the Forward Observer and 2,000 XP.
  3. Get seven headshots with an assault rifle. Completing this objective will get you the Drop Dead emblem and 2,500 XP.
  4. While near your non-lethal Field Upgrade, get 10 kills. Completing this objective will get you the Dry Surge and 3,000 XP.

In order to make this process easier, follow these tips:

The Semtex Grenade is pretty easy to get the hang of as long as you remember that it will stick to any surface it hits. You don’t necessarily have to worry about sticking the person, directly; just cook it long enough (a couple of seconds will do) and try to land it next to an enemy.

The Cigma 2 is your best bet for completing the second objective. This launcher is very slow to use, so make sure you aren’t going to have an enemy getting the drop on you while you’re using it. But as long as you give yourself enough time, the lock-on feature will ensure that it will hit your target. Keep an eye on its small amount of ammo as well.

Any assault rifle will do for the headshots, but our favorite is the Krig 6. It has the most balanced approach for an assault rifle, and when kitted out with a good scope, you can get those headshots pretty easily. We recommend using any scope that gives you a 1.25x zoom or more.

Use the Trophy System for the last objective, as it makes it safer for you to camp nearby. It will destroy any grenades or missiles sent your way and will keep you alive long enough to rack up the kills.

Equip the Scavenger Perk to help with the low ammo in the Cigma 2. This way, you can pick up ammo off of any dead bodies around the battlefield.
