How to earn gems in Smite

The premium currency in Smite.

Smite’s premium currency is called gems, and you need to use these to purchase specific rewards for your gods. These rewards do not alter the game or change any mechanics. They merely provide a visual appearance for your god, wards, switch out the announce pack when big plays happen during your game, and much more. If you want a different look than the default look, using gems is the best way, especially if you have a favorite character you love to use.

Daily log in

The most straightforward, free method to earn gems in Smite is to log in every day. When the reset happens at 9 AM UTC, your log in rewards refresh, and you’ll be able to earn a reward every day. Here’s the break down for logging in seven times in a row.

  • Day 1 – 75 Favor
  • Day 2 – 125 Favor
  • Day 3 – 250 Favor
  • Day 4 – 350 Favor
  • Day 5 – 450 Favor
  • Day 6 – 15 Gems
  • Day 7 – 35 Gems

You will earn these rewards the first time you jump into the game that day. These rewards do stack, and you do not lose them by not consecutively logging in.

Limited time Events

Every so often, there will be a limited time event, typically occurring over the weekend, where players can earn several rewards by playing the game. The rewards can consist of having to earn three first wins of the day or playing and winning a single game.

The limited-time events are normally advertised the day before they happen or the day of, so players seldom have a forward notice about them. A good way to learn about this is jumping into the game and checking the announcements at the top right of the user interface. You can also follow Smite’s Twitter and Facebook accounts to learn about these events.

Buying Gems

Beyond participating in limited-time events and earning gems from log in rewards, you can also purchase them using real-world money. There are seven gem bundles you can purchase from the store.

  • $4.99 – 200 Gems
  • $7.99 – 400 Gems
  • $14.99 – 800 Gems
  • $24.99 – 1,500 Gems
  • $34.99 – 2,500 Gems
  • $49.99 – 3,500 Gems
  • $99.99 – 8,000 Gems

These are the standard prices for buying gems throughout the year when playing Smite. However, you can usually see a 33% discount in the gem store, giving you access to the same amount of gems for a much lower price. These are only available at specific times of the year, but they stick around far more than the limited time events.
