While many Pokémon have great designs, there is something about Galarian Farfetch’d’s evolution, Sirfetch’d, that we absolutely love. He looks so regal with his celery spear. If you want to get Sirfetch’d in Pokemon Sword, then this guide has you covered.

How to Evolve Galar Farfetch’d into Sirfetch’d in Pokemon Sword

The first thing you will need is Farfetch’d. In Pokémon Sword, you can find Farfetch’d on Route 5. The encounter seems to be quite rare, so you will need to wander the route until you run into him, then catch him with a Pokéball. Just start the Battle, then go to Bag and select the Pokéball to throw it.

The important thing to know about evolving Galarian Farfetch’d is that it works a little differently to other Pokémon. Battling and leveling up your Pokémon is the standard way to get them to evolve. Pokémon usually have a level at which they can evolve, but as we have mentioned, Sirfetch’d is exceptionally cool looking, so it seems things work a little differently for him.

To evolve Galarian Farfetch’d into Sirfetch’d, you need to score three critical hits in a single battle. This will prove that Farfetch’d is truly mighty, and will allow him to evolve. You might find it helpful to level up Farfetch’d, then backtrack to a battle where you know the enemy Trainer has at least three Pokémon. If you have yet to encounter a Trainer with three Pokémon in their party, keep playing through the game until you do, then make sure you bring out Farfetch’d first. You might be able to do it against a trainer with two Pokemon, but the more Pokemon they have, the better chance you have of getting critical hits.

And that’s it. Rather than being stuck behind a level grind, Sirfetch’d is just waiting for you to prove your powerful Trainer abilities, and then he’ll happily join your Pokédex.
