In Sea of Thieves, Ritual Skulls are a rarer and much more valuable type of Skull. These can be sold to the Bilge Rats in exchange for doubloons. Unlike most Bounty Skulls, Ritual Skulls aren’t found in your average treasure hunt. There are a few methods that bring in the chance of gaining a Ritual Skull.
Potential Ritual Skull drops
- Found among the loot dropped after destroying a Skeleton Ship
- Found inside a Collector’s Chest, a reward for solving Skeleton’s Orders Riddle Map which are dropped by Emergent Skeleton Captains
- Found inside of an Ashen Chest (Must have Ashen Key to open)
Guaranteed Ritual Skull drops
While the options above bring in a chance to find the skull, these two options are guaranteed to reward pirates with the coveted Ritual Skull.
The first method is through purchasing a Skull Stash Voyage from the Bilge Rats Black Market. This will give you a map that guarantees a skull, usually on the island where you have purchased it.
The second method is by defeating the Captain’s Ship during a Skeleton Fleet encounter. Once you get your hands on these you can sell it or try your hand at summoning the Ghost of Graymarrow.
