Empowered Blades is an Aura mod in Warframe that increases the status chance and status damage of Heavy Attacks but at the cost of shields per hit. The improved status damage will only apply to Toxin, Heat, Slash, and Gas damage.
Empowered Blades will only drop from the Freyarch Specter, which appears when you use a Sunrise Apothic at the Silver Grove. The Silver Grove will randomly spawn on any Grineer Forest mission on Earth.
To make a Sunrise Apothic, you will need the blueprint from the Silver Grove quest and the following resources:
- 500 Credits
- 2 Morphics
- 2 Dusklight Sarracenia
- 6 Moonlight Dragonlillies
- 12 Sunlight Threshcone
It is best to farm up a lot of the resources you need, as you might need to grind the Specter for a while to get the drop. You should also check in the recruiting chat, to find other people who want to run it, as you only need one Sunrise Apothic for the whole squad, and this can save time. When you are farming for drops from Grove Specters, it is best to use a Warframe like Hydroid and his Pilfering Swarm mod, or Nekros and his Desecrate ability to try and get two drops from the Grove Specter loot table.

Empowered Blades is best used on a Warframe with a large shield pool, and is ideal on someone like Hildryn due to her ability to endlessly replenish her shields. The extra damage is only applied if some shield energy is available to be spent on it, making it a useless mod on Warframes like Nidus and Inaros, who have no shield value.
