How to heal yourself in Crucible

Remember to always heal.
Pokemon Go - Hatch Farfetch'd

Keeping yourself healthy in Crucible is no easy task. You have to worry about the dangerous wildlife roaming around the game, and you also have to worry about the enemy players attempting to complete the same objectives and who want to pull out a win. The best way to cause the most trouble is to keep yourself alive, and to do that; you need to have plenty of health. There are a handful of ways you can heal yourself.

The most straightforward way is to use a medkit. When you start the game, all players have access to a medkit, and you can carry a certain amount of them on your character throughout the match. You can increase this threshold by finding medkit amplifiers around the map or having a teammate locate one, which counts for you. To activate a medkit, all you have to do his hold the G-button on your key and wait for the medkit’s ability to reach full. You can add the number of medkits available on your character by locating medkits bot on the map, which are small robots with a green plus sign on their bodies.

When you don’t have any additional medkits available, look for the glowing green plants on the ground and shoot them. They let out a burst of green powder into the air, and you can receive some health if you stand over it.

There are also green healing stations that give small bursts of heals each time you activate them. These are silver pillars you can approach and constantly interact with to receive a heal, and it’s a quick burst, not healing over time.

You should be able to see how much health you will receive from the heal by the small green outline on your character’s health bar at the bottom of the screen. You likely want to rely on the green plants when you don’t have any available medkits, and you only want to use a medkit when you have a safe location. Attempting to activate one for a bigger burst of healing leaves your vulnerable while you do it, giving an enemy the perfect opportunity to land a clean hit.

Finding small pockets of green plants to heal your character during combat can keep you going, but by having a medkit available, you can recover the most health after surviving a battle.
