How to rotate buildings in Stronghold: Warlords

Building Tetris made easy.

Correctly placing buildings is an important skill you’ll develop as you play more Stronghold: Warlords. Making sure buildings are correctly grouped will speed up production and make everything move that much more efficiently. And, to get the most out of your placement, it’s best to rotate buildings to give them the proper orientation. Otherwise, you’ll end up like us and leave a building unusable.

During the Stronghold: Warlords tutorial, the game never explains how to rotate buildings, so you might think it impossible. Fortunately, that’s not the case. All you have to do is spin your mouse wheel to get the correct orientation. It’s simple once you discover how to use it and makes for an important tool in your tool belt.

For us, we get the most use out of rotating our axe- and bow-building workshops to make sure the worker has the shortest walk possible to the armory. If done correctly, you’ll speed up production and get those units in your army much more quickly.

Of course, there are tons of other ways to use rotation to your advantage. Make to experiment in the early game so you can be prepared for the tougher tests that await once business starts to pick up.
