In this guide, we will show you how to increase the speed of the Rotom Bike in Pokémon Sword and Shield.

When you get the Rotom Bike in Pokémon Sword and Shield, you will feel like you are speeding around the game. Unfortunately, that wears off pretty quickly, and you will want to go even faster. If you hold B, this will give you a boost of speed, but it will fall off and has a cooldown. Thankfully, you can reduce this cooldown by speaking with a Watt Trader.

While traveling around the Wild Area, there are several NPCs throughout the region, near the entrances of towns or the Day Care Center. The Watt Trader is wearing a white and black sports outfit, and he can sell you some essential items. You can find Watt Traders at the following locations:

  • Watt Trader at the Meetup Spot
  • Watt Trader at Dappled Grove
  • Watt Trader at East Lake Axewell
  • Watt Trader at Hammerlocke Hills
  • Watt Trader at Giant’s Seat
  • Watt Trader at Giant’s Cap

If you ask him to upgrade your Bike, he is happy to do it for 1000 Watts, at first. There are three upgrades you can get, and each one reduces the cooldown of the boost.

  • First upgrade – 1000 Watts
  • Second upgrade – 3000 Watts
  • Third upgrade – 5000 Watts

If you are wondering why anyone would spend their hard-earned Watts on this, then wait until you have finished the story and are trying to fill your Pokédex. There is so much traveling around, hunting for Pokémon, and resetting areas that being fast will cut a lot of time off your various attempts to catch hard-to-get Pokémon.
