Some Nintendo Switch owners are running into the issue of error code 2306-0112, notably when they attempt to jump into Pokémon Sword and Shield. A player goes into their Y-comm menu to try and connect to the internet, and when they’ll receive a message saying they can’t connect at this time. Shortly after receiving this, they see the error code 2306-0112 pop up for the reason they cannot move forward.

Nintendo has a handful of steps you can take to try and tackle this problem and find a solution.

The first thing you need to do is go over their Network status page where you can see if this problem is on Nintendo’s side or it’s on yours. If it says the current service is out, you need to try and connect to the online service at a later date. Sometimes they have a general idea posted of when they plan to turn it back on, but if they don’t, you’ll want to check back regularly. If all the servers are okay, then you know there’s a problem on your end.

The next step is to restart your Nintendo Switch console. Turning it off and on again might be what your system needs. Go to the top of your switch and hold down the power icon to the right of your volume control. Hold it for a few seconds, and on the new menu, go down to Power Options, and choose Restart. Your Switch should turn off and immediately turn back on again. If it doesn’t help, accept the Shut Down choice and turn it back on after it’s rested for 15 seconds.

If you continue to run into errors with the online service, move closer to the wireless router in your home. Try standing a couple of feet away from it and see if you can connect to their service. If you’re still having trouble, there’s not too much you can do. If you were able to connect to the online service beforehand, it might be having some issues. Players have shared they had trouble reconnecting and staying connected to Nintendo’s Online services following maintenance, such as Pokémon Sword and Shield players attempting to stay connected while in the Wild Area.

Make sure to check out Nintendo’s Online Service Status page, and check out the Maintenance Information located below it detailing any current maintenance work or if they plan to do any in the future on their schedule.
