As player scramble to finish up their battle passes and enjoy the extra week of Season 4 allotted for the Battle Armor event, Respawn has taken the starting steps to hype up Season 5 of Apex Legends.
While the developer hasn’t yet clarified if we are going to be getting a new map or not, one can assume at this point we most likely will not be, but there is plenty of more new content that is going to keep the game fresh, including a new legend.
The new season is to be called Fortune’s Favor and is centered around the newest legend joining the Apex Games.
New Legend: Loba
The highly anticipated new legend, Loba, has been shrouded in mystery among players for a while now, but the newest ‘Stories from the Outlands’ short animation has cleared that haze.
Loba, full name Loba Andrade, is a master thief with wealth and a powerful reputation of being the best at what she does, but even more powerful is her vendetta against a murderer: Revenant.
Revenant, Season 4’s new legend, killed Loba’s parents, and now that she knows he’s competing in the Apex Games, that why she’s next. She wants revenge, and she’s out for blood.
Quests
Players have been wanting more substance to Apex Legends in-game, rather than just the lore being built up in video and on social media, and they may be getting just that.
The Season Quest will add new rewards to the game along a journey that will give players new information about the Apex universe. As Respawn puts it: “Hunt for treasure and answers in the new Season Quest. Those who complete the journey will be richly rewarded.”
Reconnect
Ranked is going to closely mirror the way the game mode looked in Season 4, keeping the major changes such as master rank, top 500 being Apex Predators, and the season split reset. But one thing they are finally adding is Reconnect.
Reconnect is going to allow players who were booted from a ranked matched due to server or network issue the ability to rejoin the game within a certain timeframe instead of risking being penalized for leaving the game.
If the game is still going on, when you restart Apex Legends, you will load directly into the game. It is not clear yet if this will stay and be a good thing, or if it will be exploited, that we have yet to see.
