The Masseter in Warframe, introduced with The Old Blood update, is Grendel’s signature melee weapon. When used by Grendel, it gives him immunity to crowd control procs while doing Heavy Attacks. The weapon itself is a long, barbed crank-shaft that Grendel uses to smash enemies to a pulp.

The Masseter can be built as a hybrid weapon, emphasizing both Critical and Status stats, due to its high base value in both areas. Cleaving Whirlwind allows for wide, swinging, spinning strikes, making it a very solid “spin to win” weapon for people who enjoy that playstyle. The slam attacks also have a very high chance of knocking down enemies, giving great crowd control to people who wield it.
A build that emphasises Critical and Status stats would be a great option for it, focusing on Mods like Condition Overload, Bloodrush, and Bezerker. The huge crowd control potential, the slam attack damage, and the right mods should mean Masseter does a very good job of keeping you alive in high-level fights, but it might not burn through enemies as fast as some of your favorite endgame relevant weapons. We will have a full guide for our preferred Masseter build very soon.
