The pink spider icon is one of the biggest mysteries in Borderlands 3 at the moment, and everyone is curious as to what it means.

Right now, we don’t have a concrete answer about what this symbol signifies, and the rest of the internet seems to be just as confused as we are.

There are currently two main theories. The first is that the icon represents some debuff in the new DLC, as it seems to count down. The current rumor is that when the spider icon is present on your screen, you cannot use abilities, while another claims that when the icon is on their screen, they gain extra experience.

We cannot confirm either claim at this point, and both seem like the kind of thing that would be easy to verify by uploading some gameplay.

For what it is worth, when the pink spider icon is on our screen, we didn’t notice any difference at all.

The second theory is that the icon somehow ties into the Maliwan Takedown, and represents a buff during that event. More players are dismissing this because they have seen the icon, but have never done the Takedown event.

Right now, it’s a real mystery, but we will keep this article updated as we learn more about the pink spider icon.
