Halo: The Master Chief Collection first public flight, aka a pre-release version which should be around an alpha stage of the development process, has been delayed on PC, and the same fate is awaiting the console Xbox One version of Halo Reach.

“Well this tweet didn’t age well,” said community director Brian “Ske7ch” Jarrard on Twitter, referring to the first communication of the flights kicking off on April (which is, by the way, not happening anymore).

“Hey, this project is complex, and being transparent means sometimes things change vs. what we originally hoped. Work continues, but the first public flights are pushing out further than originally targeted. Will share more info soon!”

While he hasn’t spread the word about when we’ll be getting the chance to give the PC version an early look, Jarrard indeed said an April development update would be coming in a few hours, later today, on Halo Waypoint, so more details could be dropping in that occasion.

In case you’re wondering what it is all about, Halo MCC is featuring Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST’s campaign, Halo 4 and Halo Reach.

The latter will be debuting for the first time in the collection to celebrate the new release, also on the console where it’ll offer free multiplayer to the owners of the full package and campaign to be purchased standalone. The package will come for free to Xbox Game Pass subscribers. On PC, instead, games will be dropping separately but all by the end of the year, beginning with Halo Reach.
