Best Templar Build in Path of Exile

Creating the best build can be exhausting.

In Path of Exile, there are 7 character classes, each featuring from 1 to 3 Ascendancy classes. Each allows the character class to then gain different stats and abilities based on the chosen Ascendancy of the player.

If you choose Templar as the character class you wish to play, you’ll have 3 options for Ascendancy classes. They are Inquisitor, Hierophant, and Guardian. The Inquisitor is good for ignoring elemental resistances as well as dealing out very powerful critical strikes. The Hierophant is a great option if you wish to use a spell-based totem build. The Guardian is more of a support class, as they use defensive powers and provide energy shields to their allies. Each is a great option depending on how you wish to play the Templar, but which overall build is the best? There are plenty of great ones, but here’s one noted to be great for clearing rooms and high DPS.

Spark Inquisitor

Spark is one of the oldest skills in the game, being used in various meta builds and causing destruction over the years. Spark allows the player to self-cast with a strong combination of damage, defense, and economy.

Spark even has enough range that it is a good choice when starting out because players can keep their distance and deal massive damage to enemies from afar. Combining with cold damage from a Call of the Brotherhood two-stone ring, freezing enemies, and shattering them from far away makes ranged attacks extremely effective and easy. The level 100 passive skill tree for this build shows just how to optimize your Templar for league play.

This build tends to take up a lot of screen space as it eliminates every enemy in sight fairly quickly. Vaal Spark is the main skill that allows the player to use Spark as the primary source of damage dealing. The core three auras used for the build are Zealotry, Herald of Ice, and Herald of Thunder. It is also recommended to use a golem to enhance damage and survivability, with Summon Lightning Golem being the best option for offense and Summon Stone Golem being the best option for defense. In trying to increase the build’s mobility, Flame Dash can be used, allowing players to gain Arcane Surge Support.

Next, a few options for the additional Vaal skill which can be used are Vaal Righteous Fire and Vaal Haste. Fire is the better option if your primary objective is to deal damage and defeat bosses, while haste is better for clearing areas as fast as possible.
