The Cerberus +1 is a strange weapon in Destiny 2. An Exotic Assault Rifle with a somewhat stilted rate of fire, but four barrels that it can shoot low accuracy bullets from. You can also get your hands on the Exotic Catalyst for the Cerberus +1. This will change the behavior when active. Hitting R while holding the weapon will change to a narrow spread of bullets, lower rate of fire, and shorter effective range.

Destiny 2 – How to Get Cerberus+1 Exotic Catalyst

Cerberus+1 Catalyst

To get the Cerberus +1 Exotic Catalyst, you need to kill enemies in just about any activity in the game. I had it drop for me during the Vex Offensive, after killing a Major. Others have reported it dropping during Strikes, campaign missions, and patrols. The only activity I have not seen any reports of it dropping during are PvP ones. As such, get out there and start killing, and eventually, the Catalyst will come to you.

Now, whether it is worth it or not is a different tale. You will need to kill enemies with the Cerberus+1 until the bar is filled, unlocked the Masterwork effect of the tightened spread option. For PvP, it is simply not worth it. The weapon becomes a two or three hit kill when you are very close, but you are going to be outworked pretty hard by shotguns, or accurate fire from an SMG, there is is just about zero way to win those gunfights.

In PvE, however, it becomes a different story. You can happily stay in close to most enemies, and the weapon will demolish bosses and majors, giving you a consistently high DPS when you can maintain close range.

So, now you know how to get the Cerberus+1 Exotic Catalyst in Destiny 2, whether you feel it is a worthy addition to your arsenal is entirely up to you and your play style.
