It is always nice to stand out from the crowd in a game, and Infinity Ward has made a new addition to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare that will allow you to do just that. The standard clan tag will show up as white, but there is a way to change it to a yellow/golden color instead.
The first thing you will need is a clan, referred to in the game as a Regiment. To set up a Regiment, navigate to the Social menu, then the Regiments tab. Here, you will find three options. You will be able to create a Regiment, manage an existing Regiment, or join one. Choose the option that suits you the best. You don’t need to have complete control of a Regiment to change the color of your clan tag.
When that is done, navigate to the Multiplayer menu, then select the Barracks option. Navigate to Identity and choose “Clan Tag.” Select your Regiment’s clan tag, and you will be able to change it to yellow/gold.
If you want to change to another color, you will need a mouse and keyboard to plug into your console. To change to a different color, following the below steps:
- Plug your mouse and keyboard into your console. From this point, no longer use your controller with the game
- Navigate to the Regiment tab and create a new regiment
- Type in the Regiment name
- For the Regiment tag, type a tag no longer than 3 letters.
- Start the tag with one of the below codes to have it show up as a different color
You can get different colors by starting your clan tag with the following:
- ^0 – Black
- ^1 – Red
- ^2 – Green
- ^3 – Yellow
- ^4 – Blue
- ^5 – Light Blue
- ^6 – Purple
- ^7 – White
If you need help with other elements of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, we have guides that show you how to play split-screen multiplayer, and how to unlock the new GRAU 5.56 and Striker 45 SMG weapons that were introduced in Season 2. You won’t need the new Season Pass to get them, but we can also show you how to buy it if you want to jump from the Free Tier to the Premium Tier.
