How to level up quickly in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War multiplayer

Grind, grind, grind.

Like with every Call of Duty game, you can expect the multiplayer portion to be a large chunk of the gameplay. That’s where a lot of players dive into the game, where they can play with friends, work together, and compete against each other, along with rising through the ranks to earn their first prestige ranks. But in Black Ops Cold War, some players are finding it a bit of a grind to work through the game. There are few things you can do to make it easier.

Grind challenges

Playing through the multiplayer matches again and again will steadily level you up. But it’s at a static rate, and it usually depends on how well you did in the match, providing you gain experience through kills, objectives, and if you won. While you’re going through these matches, check on the various challenges you can complete. There are multiple challenges you can do while you play, and it may even force you to change your playstyle so things don’t become too stale. Once you complete a challenge, you’ll receive a reward and a good chunk of experience points.

You can expect new challenges and tasks for you to complete with each seasonal update, so prepare for those.

Unlock the weapon camos

All of the multiplayer mode weapons have camos you can unlock by performing specific tasks and activities in multiplayer. It can be a bit of a chore for many who merely want to have access to the camo on their weapon. However, it’s another opportunity to earn experience points while playing the game, giving you access to even more weapons and hardware as you level up through the prestige process.

Play Hardpoint, Control, or Domination

You earn experience points by playing any of the multiplayer modes. Some of them, such as Hardpoint, Control, and Domination, provide you with additional chances to increase your profile’s level. Not only does killing players give you more levels, but completing the game mode’s objectives and working with your teammates also does. If you don’t prefer what game mode you want to play, these three are great choices.

Party up with friends

Jumping in multiplayer games with two or three pals is another excellent way to level up. You’re more likely to communicate and work together during a match, which means you have a higher chance of winning a game. You gain more experience whenever you win a match, and that’ll be a great way to boost everything else you’re already doing while you play. You won’t win every game because there’s always someone better, but it increases your chances and makes grinding through multiplayer matches far more bearable.

Double XP codes from snacks and drinks

The double XP codes you earn from specifically marked Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War products is probably not for everyone, but if you’re in your local store and want to grab these drinks, look for these with the game logo on them. They’ll have a 2XP symbol that signifies that it’s viable for you to turn in and use on your Cold War account. This method is not for everyone, but if you’re looking for any additional help leveling and want a snack or drink, there’s no harm in grabbing them. You need to follow the instructions on the product you purchase to turn them in, and then link them to your account. The double experience points last for different amounts of time.
