How to be able to go swimming and diving in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

How you will be able to jump in and go underwater when the summer update releases.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is adding even more things for you to do on your tropical island getaway with the first wave of summer updates on July 3rd. While we won’t be able to get our hands on the update for a couple of weeks, Nintendo has already hinted at how you will be able to go swimming and diving in the new update.

How to Swim and Dive in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

When the update drops, you will not be able to walk up to any side of your island and jump in the water. First, you will need to be wearing the proper gear. Nintendo Japan’s official website has shown two different ways to acquire a swimsuit, which lets you get into the water.

First, you can buy one from Nook’s Cranny for 3,000 bells and put one on right away. While 3,000 bells is not much in the grand scheme of things, you can check out how to quickly grind Bells in Animal Crossing: New Horizons guide if you need to quickly add some currency to your inventory.

Otherwise, you can spend 800 nook miles on a Nook Inc themed suit and have it mailed to yourself if you are willing to wait another day.

The swimsuit will get you into the water where you can meet Pascal the Otter for new furniture, but to dive underwater, you will need a snorkel. Nintendo will be sending you a letter in the mail that will come with either a red, yellow, or blue snorkel. This will allow you to go underwater and find new sealife to add to your museum. If those colors don’t suit you, we would imagine there will be more available for purchase, but as of now, there is no information.
